Sounding the Infinite: An Evening of Music and Aboriginal Art

Dive deep into the art of "Marking the Infinite: Contemporary Women Artists From Aboriginal Australia" with a unique night of musical experimentation and art appreciation at MOA. Take a private guided tour with Carol E. Mayer, MOA’s Curator of the Pacific and organizer of the exhibition, who will illuminate the stories and inspiration behind these incredible works of art and the nine Aboriginal women from who created them. Then experience a sonic journey of discovery, reflection, and meditation as a seven-piece ensemble of accomplished and innovative Vancouver musicians creates music in real time in response to the art. Featuring Mike WT Allen (baritone saxophone), Meredith Bates (violin), Nik Focht (percussion), Lyle Hopkins (double bass), Franki Lemon (cello), Genevieve Mackay (viola), Alex Morison (guitar).
